Why elect me?

• I have been working towards National Delegate since Nov. 2006,
• when I helped lead Texans For Obama from a fledgling book club into the online community and offline grassroots organization that played a critical role in delivering Texas for Obama. I have been a fan and committed volunteer for Barack Obama since his speech at the DNC Convention in 2004 -- I even had it in an iTunes playlist, alongside a Howard Dean speech.
  
  Together with Ian Davis, Ken Flippin, David Kobierwoski and others, I have spent literally hundreds of hours strategizing and organizing to get new people engaged, to amp-up those already engaged, and to train people how to work within our Texas Primary and Caucus system to help elect Barack Obama.
  
  I have played many roles in helping Barack Obama in Texas -- from a leadership role to designing and programming the online infrastructure to recruiting and training volunteers to painting signs and handing out flyers. I have worked hard to elect Obama, and I hope earned your trust and your vote to be your National Delegate from Texas' Senate District 25.

• Co-Founder, Technology Director, Texans For Obama
• Designed, programmed, moderate and run TexansForObama.com, building a community blog which had over 250,000 pageviews just in the one-month run-up to the Mar. 4 Texas Two-Step, and developing an email list and volunteer tools which have recruited thousands of Obama supporters statewide.
• Attained the number one Google result for 'Obama Texas'.
• Co-Organized Feb 22, 2007 Austin Rally at Auditorium Shores which attracted over 20,000 people and was the largest Obama Rally to that date.
• Co-organized the TexansForObama Volunteer Leadership Conference, June 2007 which brought together dozens of state-wide leaders and laid the groundwork for regional cooperation.
• Answered literally hundreds of email questions sent to volunteer@texansforobama.com, list@texansforobama.com and blog@texansforobama.com (as well as, of course, mario.champion@texansforobama.com).
• Organized the State Convention Housing and RideShare programs.
• Co-organized debate-watch meetups at Scholtz's and Victory Grill, Texas Two-Step trainings and have spent literally hundreds of volunteer hours organizing for Obama in Texas.


• SD-25 Credentials Committee, Travis County Convention
• Spent over 25 hours between Mar. 25 and the Mar. 29th Travis County Convention taking testimony, doing research, and ensuring fair settlement of credentials challenges for both Obama and Clinton folks.


• Obama Precinct Captain, SD-25, pct 461
• Made over 700 phone calls, blockwalked 4 weekends, ran the PCT461 caucus with over 500 people in attendance (with Dan Buda and Richard McGregor) which Obama won with 67%.
• Organized and ran our precinct pre-county-convention caucus with Dan Buda, explaining strategy and coordinated bloc-voting decisions to our Obama delegates.


• Phonebank Organizer
• At the request of Obama For America Field Directors Menno Goedman and Palak Shah, I secured locations, recruited volunteers, brought data lists, did trainings, and joined/supervised phonebankers.
• We made over 1200 phone calls, for which I did the data entry, using VoteBuilder.com.

• Wall Street Journal The Other Campaign Trail article about folks running for National Delegate, including you know who!
• Spoke at Tejano Dems State Convention in Austin seeking their endorsement of Obama, against former Texas Land Commissioner Garry Mauro who represented Clinton.
• Also, did interviews for CNN, The New Republic, Austin-American Statesman, KVUE, Austin Chronicle and many more.
